The Lounge Mouse is inspired by the iconic lounge chair designed by Charles and Ray Eames. The mouse concept was first conceptualized in 2019, the project has recently moved into the proof-of-concept development phase.
Project Goal
This project is a return to the fundamentals of creation. While generative AI initially made me doubt the craft I’ve cultivated, like these blue-sky leather mouse renderings. I've realize that in an era of fleeting ideas, staying with one and believing in it is more important than ever. I am reactivating this concept to think through the details, solve some problems and rediscover the fulfillment of building something thoughtful, tangible, and resonant.
Mechanical internals were modeled in Solidworks. Renderings and animation were made in Blender.
Various system architecture iterations were evaluated alongside a range of material choices and production methods.
This proof-of-concept prototype validates the feasibility of integrating wood, leather, and plastic within a single electronic device. While functional refinements are ongoing, this iteration establishes a foundation for future development.
