GLOO is a spontaneous glue gun re-design project which began with a concept 2D rendering. It is also a self-reflection for me as a designer. Knowing that it's so easy to focus on drawing shapes but not paying attention to how the product actually works, this time I tried to fulfill the concept in the most engineering way that I can think of. By analyzing and referring to an existing glue gun, I modified the mechanism to fit my design, and modeled the thing with considerations of manufacturing and assembling in mind. This was also the first time I applied Material Graph to achieve more realistic 3D renderings.
